Former Friends meetings come in all sorts of varieties. Some are meetings that were started during the Great Separation and were phased out after the meetings became re-united, others may be meetings that were closed down for other reasons such as dwindling attendance. In many cases, a former meeting house becomes a private residence, still standing though sometimes hard to recognize, and, in some cases, having a burial ground still intact on the property. Following the chain of responsibility for some of these properties can be a real challenge at times!
Due to the sheer volume of entries that will eventually end up in this category, the meetings are broken down by state and then by county.
